Fuller family deaths: Vigil held in Coleford

A candle-lit vigil has been held in Gloucestershire after the discovery of the body of a father and his three children at a Shropshire beauty spot.

Ceri Fuller, 35, his son, Sam, 12, and daughters, Rebecca, eight, and Charlotte, seven, were found in woodland on Pontesbury Hill on Monday.

A murder inquiry has begun, although police are not looking for anyone else.

The vigil was organised by parents at St John's C of E primary school in Coleford, which the two girls attended.

A silence was held and Chinese lanterns were launched at the gathering on Monday evening.

Mr Fuller and the children are understood to have left their home at Milkwall near Coleford in Gloucestershire on Thursday.

'Delightful children'

Their bodies were found on Monday morning at Poles Coppice, about 10 miles west of Shrewsbury.

Police had been looking for Mr Fuller and a red Land Rover Freelander which had been seen in Leominster, Herefordshire, at about midday on Thursday.

Det Ch Insp Neil Jamieson, of West Mercia Police, said the vehicle was later thought to have been heading towards Welshpool.

At a news conference on Monday, he appealed for anyone who could help police track the movements of the vehicle to contact officers.

Mr Jamieson said post-mortem examinations on the bodies could last into Wednesday.

Head teacher of St John's Jan Wagstaff said the girls were "absolutely delightful children and a pleasure to have in school".

"They will all be very sadly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with their family," she said.

Sam was a pupil at Lakers School in Coleford.

Head teacher Alison Elliott said: "We are desperately sad to hear the family are having to face such a dreadful situation."
