Cheltenham planning consultation begins

An eight-week-long public consultation has opened to gauge people's views on how Cheltenham should be developed over the next 15 to 20 years.

The Cheltenham Plan will be used by the borough council to make decisions on planning applications.

Planners want to hear people's views on what the plan should include - on issues such as housing, transport, renewable energy and employment.

The consultation is expected to close on 2 September.

The council said the plan would "fill in the details" of the Gloucester, Cheltenham and Tewkesbury Joint Core Strategy, which sets out how many houses and jobs need to be provided in the area over the next 15 to 20 years and identifies areas for development.
