M5 works to 'ease congestion' at junction nine in Gloucestershire

Improvements aimed at easing congestion and traffic queues on a road leading to the M5 in Gloucestershire will close parts of the junction for three months.

It is part of a government programme designed to "reduce congestion, promote growth and improve road safety".

The £1.67m project on the A46 at junction nine on the M5 near Tewkesbury starts on 24 March.

The Highways Agency hopes it will be complete by 16 June and said signposted diversions would be put in place.
