Dursley: Concerns raised after young girls followed by man
- Published
A man appeared to follow two young girls through a town in a "very concerning incident", police said.
The girls, aged 11 and 12, had been walking through Dursley town centre on Saturday at about 19:45 BST.
Police said a man, believed to be in his 40s, began walking after them on Castle Street and followed them when they changed direction.
They decided to run and the man also began running. Police have released CCTV footage and are investigating.
The incident came to an end when a member of the public stepped in to block the man's path and he walked away in a different direction.
The man did not speak to the girls and did not attempt to touch them.
Police are now appealing for help in identifying a man shown in a CCTV image so they can speak to him in connection with the incident.
Sgt Garrett Gloyn, of Stroud Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "This was a very concerning incident involving two young girls.
"While there is nothing to suggest that the man had any criminal intention, his behaviour was clearly threatening and left the girls in a state of fear."
