PC Miles Caffull is facing charges over driving while disqualified

A police officer is to appear in court charged with driving police vehicles while disqualified.

Pc Miles Caffull, a 26-year-old response officer based in Gloucester, is charged with three counts of driving while disqualified and three counts of using a motor vehicle without third-party insurance.

Gloucestershire Police said the charges cover 26 May to 16 June 2023.

They include the use of police vehicles while on duty.

It is alleged Caffull was disqualified from driving in May 2023, after receiving 12 points on his licence for speeding offences, but had not disclosed this to the force.

He will appear at Worcester Magistrates' Court for a plea hearing on Thursday.

A force spokeswoman said: "PC Caffull was suspended from duty in June this year, when he disclosed the speeding offences and his disqualification to the constabulary.

"He was charged following an investigation by the constabulary's professional standards department and remains subject to ongoing misconduct proceedings."
