Gloucester: Suspected murder arrest after cyclist hit by car

Police say the man in his 20s was taken to Southmead Hospital with serious injuries

A man in his 60s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a road collision left a cyclist with serious injuries.

Gloucestershire Police said a black Ford Focus struck the cyclist on Hucclecote Road, Gloucester, at around 20:00 GMT on 21 January.

The victim, in man in his 20s, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol after being treated by paramedics.

The force said an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Gloucestershire Constabulary added it has spoken to a number of witnesses but has urged more people to come forward.

It said anyone who may have dashcam showing what happened leading up to the collision should contact officers.

The road was closed after the incident and then reopened at around 22:30 GMT, Gloucestershire Constabulary added.
