Gloucester: Man released on bail after crash investigation

Police say the man in his 20s was taken to Southmead Hospital with serious injuries

A man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a collision that left a cyclist with serious injuries has been released on bail.

The incident happened on Hucclecote Road, in Gloucester, on 21 January when a black Ford Focus struck the cyclist.

Gloucestershire Police said the victim, a man in his 20s requires further treatment at Southmead Hospital but the injury is not life threatening.

The arrested man has been bailed to return to police at a later date.

The force added it is making further enquiries on the incident, which occurred at around 20:00 GMT and closed the road for more than two hours.

Gloucestershire Police said officers had spoken to a number of witnesses but urged more people to come forward.
