The motorway in Gloucestershire has reopened following a collision between two lorries, National Highways said.

One Heavy good vehicle crossed the central reservation and spilled diesel, causing "significant damage".

All lanes of the M5 were closed between Junction 11 and Junction 9 while emergency services attended.

The lorry drivers have been taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be serious, police said.

There were long tailbacks on the motorway following the collision at about 02:30 GMT, with congestion on the southbound carriageway stretching into Worcestershire.
