Gloucester: Mercedes driver forces bus to brake hard

One woman needed hospital treatment after the incident

Police say a bus driver was forced into an emergency stop due a white Mercedes A Class deliberately braking in front of it.

Gloucestershire Police has appealed for witnesses, external after one woman passenger from the bus was taken to hospital.

Three other passengers were injured but did not require hospital treatment, the force added.

The incident happened on Priory Road in Gloucester shortly after 14:20 on 13 January.

The injured woman needed hospital treatment for an injury to her knee and a cut to her hand, the force said.

Police said the Mercedes was waiting at traffic lights when the bus approached in the next lane.

When the lights turned green, it is believed the driver of the Mercedes deliberately cut in front of the bus and braked hard, forcing the bus driver to also hit the brakes.

Gloucestershire Police has urged anyone who may have seen what happened or may have mobile phone or dashcam footage to contact the force.
