A teenage boy has pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of a 16-year-old girl.

Gloucestershire Police were called to an address in Kingsway, Gloucester, on 28 January after reports that a teenage girl had been stabbed.

A boy, 17, who was later charged in connection with the incident, appeared at Gloucester Crown Court earlier.

He pleaded not guilty to one charge of attempted murder and was remanded in custody.

Making a section 45 court order preventing the names of both the defendant and the victim due to their ages, Judge Ian Lawrie KC said the boy is likely to face trial on 22 July.
