Police are appealing for witnesses after a gang of men threatened workers with bats and racially abused them.

Gloucestershire Police said a driver of a Smart Car was abusive towards workmen in Gloucester when he was told he could not pass due to a road closure.

A group of men later arrived in multiple cars with bats and made threats of violence.

The force said the incident could be linked to anti-social driving in the area.

The men were dressed in track suits and the cars involved were a Volkswagen Caddy, a silver Volkswagen Golf and a silver Audi, the police added.

The incident happened on 4 March at around 23:20 GMT on the junction of Barnwood Road and North Upton Lane in Hucclecote, Gloucester.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage.
