A man who left shop workers "too scared" to go to work has been banned from parts of a town centre.
Patrick Learmount was given an Anti-Social Behaviour Injunction (ASBI) at Cheltenham and Gloucester County Court last month following violent behaviour.
The 44-year-old, of Griffiths Avenue, Cheltenham was given the order after numerous incidents in Cheltenham., external
He is not allowed to visit the Promenade at any time.
Following the court order being imposed on 1 March, Learmount has also been banned from contacting certain named individuals in the town centre and using or threatening to use violence towards any person within Cheltenham.
His behaviour was reported by leaders of the Business Improvement District (BID), traders and staff from town centre businesses, Gloucestershire Police said.
The case was brought against Learmount by Solace, a joint team of officers from the force, and Cheltenham Borough Council.
'Violent and threatening'
Solace officer Joe Mullis said some staff working in local businesses were "too frightened" to go into work due to Learmount's behaviour.
"Learmount purposefully targeted local people to the point where traders and staff of local businesses were too frightened to turn up for work due to his violent and threatening conduct," Mr Mullis said.
"By curtailing his behaviour, the ASBI will provide respite to those traders, employees and the local community.
"This will send out the right message to him that Solace, the police, the BID and the staff of local businesses will not tolerate such anti-social conduct."
The ASBI will run until 5 February, 2025, and if Learmount breaches any part of it he faces being arrested.
