A man and a woman in their 80s have been taken to hospital after a crash.

Police were called shortly to Bristol Road in Gloucester just after 13:30 GMT on Tuesday after a report of a crash involving a white Mercedes C350 and a black Toyota Yaris.

The female driver of the Toyota sustained a broken wrist and injuries to her ankle.

The male passenger was treated for multiple fractures to his ribs and a fractured spine.

The driver of the Mercedes sustained minor injuries in the crash, which happened near Nicks & Co Timber Ltd, but did not require medical treatment, Gloucestershire Police said.

Police are appealing for witnesses of the crash, and the moments before it, as well as anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
