The incidents happened during the week of Cheltenham Festival

Police believe a series of robberies during the Cheltenham Festival could be linked.

A 37-year-old man sustained a black eye after being assaulted and robbed of his Rolex and phone on the Promenade in Cheltenham between 05:00 and 06:00 GMT on Friday.

The thieves also stole thousands of pounds from the victim's mobile banking.

Another man, 22, had his phone stolen on St George's Road the same night.

Other incidents which happened around the same time have been reported to police, including the theft of a man's phone, leading to thousands of pounds being lost in bank transfers.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone else who may have had their phone stolen in similar circumstances in Cheltenham that day and who have not yet told police.
