Gloucester assault: Two arrested after man suffers serious head injuries

A police tent is in place following an assault near Gloucester Docks which has left a man with serious head injuries

Two men have been arrested after a man was airlifted to hospital with serious head injuries following an assault.

Police were called to Southgate Street in Gloucester shortly after 19.00 BST on Sunday, following reports that a man had been attacked.

He was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by air ambulance and remains in a serious condition.

Two men, aged 26 and 24, both from Gloucester, have been arrested in connection with the incident.

They both remain in police custody.

A police tent is in place outside a car park at Gloucester Docks following the assault.

Gloucestershire Police said that the area was busy at the time of the incident and officers would like to speak to witnesses or drivers with relevant dashcam footage.
