Police have warned the public not to approach Sean Bailey

Murder detectives have released a picture of a suspect after a man died following a fight in a Hampshire street.

Sean Bailey, 28, from Waterlooville is wanted in connection with the attack in the town earlier.

Police were called to Dove Close at 05:30 BST to reports of a fight and found the injured victim who was later pronounced dead.

The public are warned not to approach Mr Bailey if they see him.

Ch Insp Alison Heydari said: "Although there is no information to suggest a specific threat to anyone else in the community, any sightings should be reported to the police immediately.

"Dove Close remains sealed off by officers who are taking statements from witnesses and conducting forensic examinations.

"We're grateful for the understanding and co-operation of the community so far, and I would appeal again for anyone else with information to come forward."

The identity of the victim, who had stab injuries, has not been released.

A post-mortem examination is expected to take place later.

Ch Insp Heydari added: "We're in the process of informing next-of-kin, but won't be in a position to confirm the victim's name until all formal identification procedures are completed.

"Police are aware the victim was well-known in the community, but would remind members of the public not to publish his name on social media websites out of respect for his family at this difficult time."
