Southampton homes to let could be closer regulated
Landlords in Southampton fear a rise in prices and fewer rental options if city council proposals to bring in tougher licensing are approved.
The authority is particularly keen to tighten checks on houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) with around 6,500 across Southampton.
The city council is proposing checks and a licence for each property which houses three or more unrelated people, regardless of the height of the building.
