Portsmouth cat rescued from behind car dashboard

A cat had to be rescued after getting stuck behind the dashboard of a car in Stamshaw in Portsmouth.

Hampshire Fire Service's animal rescue adviser helped pull the cat free from the car on Newcomen Road on Saturday.

"It actually went underneath the car's pedals and then got up behind the dashboard where it got stuck," a Hampshire Fire Service spokesman said.

"It wasn't in a basket and I think it just freaked out and panicked and got itself stuck." The animal was unhurt.
