Bestival organisers said 446 people performed in the busking record attempt

Music fans at Bestival on the Isle of Wight have attempted a new world record for mass busking.

More than 400 took part in performing the Beatles' anthem All You Need is Love on the final day of the four-day event at Robin Hill Country Park.

The previous record of 387 was set in Australia earlier this year. Guinness World Records is yet to officially confirm the bid.

Organisers had urged fans to bring kazoos, triangles, maracas and bongos.

The record-breaking busking attempt was led on the main stage by Coco and the Butterfields, with organisers putting the final figure of those taking part at 446.

More than 50,000 people are attending the 12th annual Bestival, with a theme of "Summer of Love".

Headliners at this year's event include Duran Duran, The Chemical Brothers and Missy Elliott.

A record for the world's largest discoball was set at last year's festival.
