A new £9m dinosaur theme park has opened in the New Forest.

Lost Kingdom, at Paultons Park, includes two family rollercoasters, as well as animatronic dinosaurs and a Jeep expedition.

Managing director Richard Mancey described it as a "truly unique experience where families can be thrown back millions of years to see, hear and feel a prehistoric world".

The park is also home to Peppa Pig World, which opened in 2011.

The new attraction includes The Flight of the Pterosaur, a 395m (1,296ft) suspended rollercoaster and the Velociraptor, a 200m (656ft) boomerang rollercoaster.

Other rides include Boulder Dash, where participants can travel in a huge dinosaur egg.

Organisers are hoping the new theme park, which has been two years in the making, will appeal to children aged six and older.
