Man charged over Liphook attempted armed bank robbery

The attempted armed robbery took place at a Lloyds branch in Liphook

A man has been charged in connection with an attempted armed bank robbery in Hampshire.

Two men wearing hoodies, entered Lloyds Bank in Liphook after 16:00 BST on Monday and attempted to rob the branch.

Jonathan Pay, 46, of Liphook Road, Lindford, has been charged with two counts of attempted robbery and one of possession of an imitation firearm.

He is due to appear before Basingstoke Magistrates' Court later.

Mr Pay has also been charged with intent to cause fear of violence and one count of wounding with intent.

A 31-year-old man of no fixed address has been arrested and bailed until 13 July.
