Former Winchester mayor charged with sex assault at fireworks display

Derek Green is a former mayor of Winchester
A former mayor has been charged with sexually assaulting a teenager while he was on official duty at a fireworks display.
Derek Green, 67, is accused of touching the 16-year-old girl over her clothing at the event in Winchester on 5 November 2022.
He attended the event at River Park as the city's mayor, say police.
Mr Green, of Battery Hill, will appear before Basingstoke magistrates on 11 January.
