A police dog has been praised for saving a man's life during her first month on duty.
German shepherd Moxie joined Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary as a general purpose dog in October.
Within weeks on the job she tracked down a man who had left his home with the intention of ending his own life in the New Forest, the force said.
Her handler, PC Stacy Beale, said she was "incredibly proud" of the new recruit.
She said Moxie was able to pick up the man's scent and located him in a wooded area.
He was already unconscious but his handler was able to provide immediate first aid and call for the ambulance service.
PC Beale, said: "I am incredibly proud of Moxie, having saved a man's life in her first month of duty and showing confidence whilst being deployed to a number of other types of incidents.
"She is a good all round dog, who enjoys her work. Whilst she is still young in service she is proving to be a confident four-legged crime fighter and an excellent partner to work with."
Moxie is a general-purpose dog, which means she is trained for tracking, containment or detention of offenders, searching for people, locating property and public order incidents.
