Stephen Lee died in the crash between the junctions for Fareham and Portsmouth

The family of a man who died in a motorway crash said they had been left "shocked and heartbroken".

Stephen Lee, from Southsea, was driving a blue Nissan Juke when it collided with a grey Ford Focus on the Eastbound carriageway of the M27 on 5 January.

Police were called to an area between junctions 11 and 12 at about 16:45 GMT and the 60-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family thanked paramedics for trying to save his life.

In a tribute, they wrote: "He was a loving husband, step father and grandfather, as well as a much loved brother and uncle.

"Steve will be sorely missed by every one of us as well as his friends and work colleagues," they added.

"Steve, you will remain forever in our hearts."

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary is investigating the incident and is urging witnesses or those with dashcam footage to come forward.
