Homes on roads in higher ground areas of Winchester are experiencing low pressure, Southern Water said

Some homes in the Winchester and Kings Worthy areas have ongoing water supply issues following a fault at a water supply works.

The issue, halting pumping, at the water supply works in Easton on Friday night led to intermittent supplies.

Southern Water said normal supplies had returned to most but there were still issues for homes on higher ground.

The water firm said the site was up and running again after temporary equipment was installed on Tuesday night.

Southern Water said the problem preventing pumping at Easton Water Supply Works happened late on Friday

It added water quality testing at a reservoir was under way and said: "If there are no problems, supplies will return to normal later tonight, into the early hours of tomorrow morning."

A bottled water station for those affected at Coach Park, Worthy Lane, opened at 08:00 GMT.

Southern Water said a further two bottled water stations remain on standby.

Water is also being delivered to vulnerable customers on Southern Water's priority list.

Tankers were used to put water into the network while the repair work was ongoing.

Residents who are experiencing issues with their supplies are being urged to get in touch with Southern Water, external.
