A family has paid tribute to a "special" man who was fatally injured by a vehicle at a hand car wash.

Lukasz Wojenkowski, 35, from Southampton, was hit by a Range Rover at Car Wash Bay in Bishopstoke, shortly after midday on Sunday.

He died in hospital on Tuesday.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, while two other men, aged 42 and 53, were held on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter.

The three suspects, all from Southampton, were later released on bail while police inquiries continue.

In a statement, Mr Wojenkowski's family said: "Lukasz was a special person. Always smiling, joyful and full of life.

"What happened shocked all his family and friends.

"We as a family will demand justice. Unfortunately, nothing and no-one will give us back our son, brother and uncle."

Police have appealed for witnesses or people with dashcam or video footage to contact them.
