About 25 dead animals including pheasants and hares were found along the road in the village, police said
Dead birds and hares have been found in a road near the entrance to a primary school.
The 25 dead animals, which also included pheasants, were found strewn along Danes Road, including outside Awbridge Primary School, near Romsey.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said it received numerous calls about the incident at 06:30 GMT.
Officers, along with Test Valley Borough Council staff, cleared up the animals. The force is investigating.
It added inquiries in to the incident were ongoing and has urged witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.
