A university is planning to invest £250m on a number of campus development projects over the next decade.
The University of Portsmouth hopes the work will create world-class facilities while improving connections between the campus and the city.
Projects include constructing new buildings and refurbishing existing facilities.
A three-week consultation into the plans began this week.
Work as part of the Estate Masterplan has already begun, with the recent completion of the Ravelin Sports Centre.
Proposed projects include a new student hub for improved wellbeing services, a new modern technology building, a teaching laboratory building and a revised development at the Victoria Park site.
Prof Graham Galbraith, vice-chancellor of the university, said: "We are now approaching a very exciting milestone in the development of our estate, with planning applications for a number of proposed buildings due to be submitted shortly."
He added that public input on the plans was "invaluable" in helping the university create an "even better teaching, learning and research environment for all which enhances the attractiveness of our city".
Portsmouth residents, local businesses and the general public are being asked to share their thoughts and views on the broad proposals and to help shape planning applications, before they are submitted to Portsmouth City Council.
The consultation runs until 3 March with a community event on 20 February from 16:00 to 19:00 GMT in the university's Eldon Building.
