A school has been shut after smoke was detected wafting around the building.
Firefighters were called to Mansbridge Primary School on Octavia Road in Southampton at about 07:30 GMT when an alarm began sounding.
Thermal imaging cameras helped locate a smouldering laptop charging unit, according to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.
The school was shut as a safety precaution, Southampton City Council said.
This would give time for smoke to clear from the affected area to ensure the safety of children and staff, the authority added.
The fire service used ventilation fans to clear the smoke and and the air quality was also checked with specialist equipment.
Crews left the scene about an hour after attending the scene.
Mansbridge Primary School has been contacted for comment.
