A large fire has broken out at a former aquatic centre, nine months after another blaze at the derelict premises.

Eight fire appliances were called at about 19:30 BST to the World of Water site near Romsey, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said.

The blaze has sent up plumes of black smoke and the fire service has asked residents to remain indoors and close windows and doors.

Police have closed the A3057 Greatbridge Road.

In July 2023, a large fire spread through buildings at the former aquatic supplies centre, which closed in 2020.
