Council tax phone scam warning for Worcestershire

Residents in parts of Worcestershire are being warned to be on their guard against a council tax scam.
Malvern Hills District Council said fraudsters have been calling residents in Malvern Hills, Worcester and Wychavon asking for their bank details.
They also ask residents for their Pin numbers, telling them they are entitled to a council tax refund.
The council said it always informs people of refunds in writing and would never ask for Pin numbers.
Jean Mann, Revenues Manager for South Worcestershire said "We want to warn residents not to give out their bank details or pin to anyone, especially regarding council tax.
"For refunds we will put information in writing and would never ask for residents pin numbers."
The police have been informed about the scam.
