War memorial dedication in Pershore abbey

A new memorial to service personnel who have died since World War II is to be dedicated in a Worcestershire town later.

The Pershore Royal Naval Association has raised £10,000 for the tribute in the grounds of Pershore Abbey.

Spokesman Trudy Burge said she was "blown away" by how good it looks. The group had the idea of a tribute about six years ago.

Treasurer Terry Rimmel thanked those involved.

"We've raised over £10,000 and it's taken us, from the first initial thought of doing a memorial, about six years to get to this stage so obviously there's a really big thank you to all the people who have helped."
