Hoarwithy bridge reopens after badger damage

  • Published

A bridge in Herefordshire has reopened to traffic after contractors took longer than expected to repair damage caused by badgers.

Hoarwithy Bridge was initially closed for temporary maintenance in February, with a further closure in July.

It followed damage thought to be caused by badgers undermining the carriageway while digging out a nearby sett.

While work on the embankment is yet to be completed, Herefordshire Council said the bridge was open to traffic.
