More than 100,000 visitors are expected in Worcester during its four-day Victorian Christmas fair. It is in its 21st year and sells food, decorations and gifts.

Carol-singers were out in force, specialising in popular Victorian carols such as Here We Come A-Wassailing.

The streets of Worcester were filled with more than 100 stalls, with many stallholders dressed as 19th Century street vendors.

Traditional Victorian victuals, such as roast chestnuts and roast hog, were sold alongside more modern food like pizza and hot dogs.

Not all the produce is obviously Victorian, despite the costumes of the vendors.

Decorations made from dried oranges, lemons, cloves, cinnamon and pine cones added to the tempting smells of mulled wine and roast chestnuts.

Old met new in the lighting round the cobbled streets. Tea-lights and candles glowed on one stall, while another had sparkling frosty flowers.

Locally grown apples were in evidence, as mulled cider joined the mulled wine for added Christmas cheer.

Many stalls were selling hand-made Christmas decorations.
