Thieves steal rescue equipment in Kidderminster

Thieves have broken into a search and rescue base in Worcestershire, stealing equipment and causing thousands of pounds of damage.

The Severn Area Rescue Association said the break-in happened at its base in Kidderminster on Monday.

The team supports emergency services in the West Midlands in operations such as flood rescues or land searches.

A boat and two Land Rovers were damaged and put out of action, while fuel and other specialist equipment was stolen.
