Hereford United has admitted a charge of misconduct brought by the Football Association.

The club was accused of not submitting a completed and signed declaration for the Owners and Directors Test (ODT) for majority shareholder, Alan McCarthy.

Mr McCarthy is also individually charged with acting as an officer of Hereford United without written confirmation from the FA.

A response by the club to this charge has not yet been revealed.

The club, which was given until Wednesday to reply to the charges, has now requested a hearing with the FA's governing body.

'Forms submitted'

Mr McCarthy is the owner of Alpha Choice Finance, which bought Tommy Agombar's shareholding in the club when Mr Agombar himself failed the ODT.

United were thrown out of the football conference in June over unpaid debts. The club now plays in the Southern Premier League.

Club chairman Andy Lonsdale said Mr McCarthy had now filled out the ODT declaration.

"Basically, we've sorted all the problems with the FA and submitted all the forms," he said.

"We've done all we can, we'll just have to wait and see what happens now."
