Church items worth £250,000 recovered

The heart stone memorial of Bishop John de Breton at Dore Abbey has been recovered

Church ornaments worth more than £250,000 stolen in thefts since 2011 have been recovered.

Items have been taken from places including Dore Abbey and churches in Foy and Much Dewchurch, Herefordshire, and churches in Oxford and Devon.

Statues, carvings and glass were among the items stolen.

A warrant was executed in Brecon and two men have been arrested and bailed. Inquiries have been taking place to trace the owners of all items.
