Hereford Cathedral School has won the BBC Songs of Praise Senior School Choir of the Year competition.

The school's 17-strong Cantabile Girls' Choir took the title at Nottingham's Albert Hall by singing The Skylark, a piece written during World War One by a former pupil of the school.

Head teacher Paul Smith said he was "naturally delighted" for the choir.

The school competed against Twyford Church of England High School and Strathearn School Chamber Choir.
