Hereford's newly formed football club has agreed a shirt sponsorship deal for its first season.

Hereford FC will compete in the Midland Football League after taking over the lease at the city's Edgar Street ground.

Hereford United, which played at the ground for 90 years, was wound up last year.

Builders merchants Jewson will become the club's main shirt sponsor for the 2015/16 season.

The club said replica shirts should be available for supporters to buy "within a couple of weeks".

Herefordshire Council, which owns the Edgar Street ground, has leased it to Hereford FC for five seasons.

Hereford United Football Club (1939) Limited was wound up by the High Court on 19 December.

The winding-up petition was brought by HM Revenue and Customs, which is thought to be owed £116,000.
