The proposed 64-acre site could be built across fields in Comphampton, if plans are approved

Plans have been lodged for a new solar farm which developers claim could power about 7,700 homes.

Tyler Hill Renewables plans for the 64-acre (26-hectare) site have been submitted to Whychavon District Council.

If approved, the proposals would see rows of solar panels built across fields in Comhampton, near Ombersley, in Worcestershire.

If approved the solar farm would be there for up to 40 years.

The council has already approved separate plans for a 160-acre (65-hectare) solar farm about 500m (1,640ft) away, on the opposite side of the A449, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.

Tyler Hill Renewables has previously submitted separate plans to build a 91-acre solar (37-hectare) farm on farmland in Stoulton, near Worcester.
