A new bus service has been launched in a bid to improve transport links in Worcestershire.

The 153 service run by First Bus will operate from Worcester to Droitwich during weekdays from Monday.

The new route includes the Berry Hill and Hampton Lovett Industrial Estates as well as access to the train station.

A number of smaller changes to First Bus services in Worcester were also introduced on Sunday.

Timetables have been amended for services 144, S44, 333 and 365.

Councillor Mike Rouse, Worcestershire County Council's cabinet member for transport, said: "I met with employers earlier this year and they said it would be helpful if there was a bus service going into the industrial estates around Droitwich.

"We've tried our best to tune the service so that's its available for people getting to and from work around the shift patterns are on the estate."
