Two dog brothers, separated when adopted from a shelter, have been reunited after nearly 15 years.

The siblings bumped into each other by chance while out on a walk with their owners in Evesham and immediately started playing together.

Buddy and Chance, who turn 15 in March, have lived up the road from each other for almost all their lives.

Their owners now plan to stay in contact and to celebrate their dogs' birthdays together.

Buddy's owner Laura Van Toller and Amy Manning, Chance's owner, had been out separately for the walk when the dogs, who had been rehomed from Evesham Dogs Trust, met.

Ms Van Toller told BBC Hereford & Worcester the meeting was "bonkers".

We went for a walk up Bideford Meadow, just up the road from Evesham, and we went in the park and there was a dog that looked a little like Buddy," she said.

"They met each other and they were playing, and playing, and it was like some weird connection."

The two owners got chatting and realised their link.

"I just can not believe it, they are both going to be 15 in March and what a coincidence," added Ms Van Toller.

"If I had not walked my dog last Saturday afternoon on this park then they may never have met."

Ms Manning said it would be "lovely" if the two dogs could remain in contact.
