Hull's Freedom Festival and the Junction arts centre in Goole have been awarded funding from the Arts Council England (ACE).
ACE has announced which initiatives will receive money after its budget was cut by £100m in the Spending Review.
The Freedom Festival will receive over £100,000, while the Junction has secured £72,000 each year until 2015.
Hull Truck Theatre saw a slight reduction in funding, but will continue to receive more than £500,000 annually.
Janet Reuben, chief executive of Visit Hull and East Yorkshire said: "We are absolutely thrilled that the Arts Council wanted to recognise what we're doing and I think that's a great endorsement.
"It's a national recognition of what Freedom is doing and aspires to be in the future.
"We are passionate about Freedom so our view would be: why wouldn't anyone want to invest in it?"
