Ground survey to prepare for Grimsby flood defence scheme
- Published
Ground investigations are being carried out in Grimsby in preparation for proposed work to reduce the risk of flooding to 200 homes.
Environment Agency work will start next to Freshney Washland Flood Storage Reservoir to determine ground make-up prior to building a new flood bank.
The scheme would reduce the flood risk to homes on the Willows Estate, which were swamped with heavy rain in 2007.
Planning permission would be needed before the scheme could go-ahead.
