Hull wind turbine factory plans go on display

A public consultation over plans to create a £200m wind turbine factory in Hull has started.
Siemens submitted planning applications to Hull City Council last month to build a factory making offshore wind turbines for the North Sea.
The engineering giant said the factory would employ 700 people making the blades and turbine units.
Members of the public have until Friday to share their views on the project.
The consultation will be held at six locations in the city including Victoria Dock, Hedon Road and Queen Victoria Square.
Dan McGrail, the project manager at Siemens, said: "Submission of the planning application for Green Port Hull marks a significant step for the project and is the product of months of detailed work and consultation by teams in ABP and Siemens.
"We now look forward to discussing our proposals with the wider public at these important consultation events."
A decision on whether to approve the scheme is expected to be made by the summer.
