Hull city centre gets Purple Flag award

Hull has been awarded Purple Flag status for the quality of the city's nightlife.
The Home Office-backed awards are given to cities and towns for the safety, quality and diversity of their evening economy.
Victoria Jackson, who chairs the organisation Hull Bid, said the East Yorkshire city had "worked so hard to put things together".
She said other cities awarded a Purple Flag had reported increased trade.
Ms Jackson said any such increase in Hull's trade would be monitored and measured.
'Better-known destinations'
"The proof of the pudding is when it happens," she added.
Trevor Todd, of the city council, said the award had to be earned and now Hull was "in a league with some of the better-known destinations".
The Association of Town Centre Management confirmed the award and praised Hull Truck Theatre in particular "for its outstanding contribution" to entertainment for city centre users.
Hull BID, Humberside Police and Hull City Council worked with other organisations to get the city accredited.
Other Purple Flag awards in Yorkshire have been given to Halifax and Sheffield.
