M62 shut as lorry overturns and sheds salmon load
- Published
A lorry carrying 10 tonnes of frozen salmon overturned shedding some of the fish on the M62 in East Yorkshire.
The eastbound section of the motorway was closed for more than 15 hours after the accident between junctions 34 and 35 in the early hours of Friday.
Humberside Police said the 44-tonne refrigerated lorry had blocked the carriageway and some of its load had spilled on to the westbound section.
The 47-year-old male lorry driver suffered head injuries.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics and his injuries are not thought to be serious.
