Consultation on Dogger Bank wind farm cable plan

Communities in East Yorkshire which lie on a planned cable route to a huge offshore wind farm in the North Sea are being asked for their views.
About 600 turbines are proposed for the site at Dogger Bank, located 77 miles (125km) off Hornsea.
Public events are being held in venues along the proposed cable route from Ulrome to Cottingham, which would connect the scheme to sub stations.
A planning application for the scheme is to be submitted later this year.
The Dogger Bank Creyke Beck scheme will comprise two offshore wind farms each generating up to 1.2 gigawatts of electricity.
Developers Forewind said the public sessions would enable people living or working by the proposed 19-mile (30km) cable route and converter stations near Cottingham to provide comments to be considered in the final plans.
The company said the events, external were part of the final consultation for its first stage of development.
If approved, construction on the scheme would start in 2016.
The public events are: Ulrome Rickaby Hall, 7 May; Beeford Community Centre, 8 May; Bridlington Spa, 9 May; Beverley Arms Hotel, 10 May; Cottingham Civic Hall, 11 May and St Stephens Shopping Centre in Hull, 12 May.
