The family of 12-year-old Jessica Lawson, who died on a school trip to France, have released a video of her dancing to one of her favourite songs.

Jessica, a pupil at Wolfreton School, Hull, fell into a lake near Meymac in the Massif Central region on Tuesday.

Her aunt Jeannette Phillpotts shared the short home video clip online of the schoolgirl dancing in a kitchen while being followed around by a white dog.

She said: "It's so apt and the video shows her true self."

Ms Phillpotts said she posted the home video on social media because "the whole family would like as many people as possible to see and enjoy the sheer delight that is Jessica Lawson".

Writing on Facebook, she said: "This is how she will stay frozen in time for me - an absolute joy, always xxx"

Her father Antony Lawson said he wanted to "get her back home to be remembered forever".

Jessica was one of 24 students on a five-day trip to the Club Correze adventure centre.

French media reports say Jessica became trapped under an overturned pontoon while swimming.

It is thought she and a group of other children were jumping from the pontoon when it overturned.

She was taken to hospital in Limoges after the incident but died on Wednesday.

Her family have travelled to France to bring their "most beautiful and outgoing girl" back home to the UK.
