More than 100,000 people attended the Freedom Festival in Hull, organisers said.
The three-day festival featured more than 200 acts, including music, street theatre, outdoor arts and comedy.
The festival was first held in 2007 as part of commemorations to mark the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the British Empire's slave trade.
Hull MP William Wilberforce was a leading member of the campaign to abolish slavery.
